Overview of Provision for 2013/14

At Oxbridge Lane Primary School we provide all children with experiences that involve the development of the physical skills, knowledge and understanding in games, dance, athletics, outdoor adventurous activities and swimming. P.E has a high profile in school and contributes to the school’s aims and ethos through providing opportunities for developing independence, team work and raising self-esteem. We also employ additional specialist coaches who work alongside staff to support high quality provision and build on skills and best practice, in all areas of the P.E curriculum.

The provision overview covers all aspects of P.E and Sport throughout the year giving the children meaningful experiences that are also in line with competitions in the Stockton Schools Cluster for 2013/14.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

We have a range of clubs that take place on different days after school.

Monday – Teams Club

This club involves children who mainly represent the school in our SSP Cluster competitions. The club focusses on working together in various team games (TAG Rugby/Football/Cricket/Rounders) as well as practicing Athletic Sports.

Tuesday – Netball

Netball is also another club that allows children to take part in out of school competition as part of the Stockton Sports Partnership. For both boys and girls in upper KS2 the children practice weekly as well as travelling to other schools to play friendlies and competitions.

Thursday – Football Club

This club is run by Stockton Football Town coaches within the school premises every Thursday afterschool. The club is for both boys and girls and it allows children to practice their football skills as well as working in a team and developing sportsmanship skills in a game.

Our children have taken part in many competitions so far in the Autumn term such as TAG Rugby, Football and most recently, Athletics. Please look on our ‘Sports Noticeboard’ in school to see more details of what has been going on.
