Children are encouraged to come to school wearing outdoor PE kit during the Coronavirus epidemic.

Reading/Spelling

​

Children in Year 1 are encouraged to bring their reading books and Reading/Spelling Record into school daily.

 

Reading books will be changed once records are signed that the book has been read.

​

Children with ‘Teach Your Monster to Read’ log in details are encouraged to access this for 20 minutes daily.

Phonics Play

National Assessments: Phonics Screening Check

​

The Phonics Screening check takes place in June. 

​

For this assessment, children will read 40 words out loud to a teacher. 

​

If your child does not achieve the pass score, they will re-sit the assessment near the end of Year 2.

Throughout the year staff assess children’s progress on a daily basis and more formally each half term.
